An exciting new global Pharma Oncology account which requires an Account Director to develop & nurture this new client relationship. You will join the Client Services team, at a independent Medical Education agency.
The leaders of this agency allow their Account leads a high degree of autonomy. This therefore means that you have opportunity to truly shape & influence the direction of this newly won account. Moreover you will apply your awareness of the scientific & commercial landscape to build a highly collaborative & profitable working relationship. On behalf of your client’s Medical Affairs team you will oversee the delivery of complex communications projects within the Global Oncology Market. Moreover you will mentor your team in order to direct their strengths so as to get the best results for your client.
The Medical Education Agency :
The agency develops a wide range of Medical Education (MedEd) communications activities :
- Developing the Scientific Platform
- Engaging Key Opinion Leaders in order to build brand advocacy
- Creating disease awareness raising programmes and thereby educating healthcare professionals & patients
- Crafting engaging internal communications such as Sales Force training and materials for use by Medical Science Liaisons in their engagements with HCPs
- Content for digital meetings and webinars and, when we get back to normal, materials such as Posters, and Slide Decks for use at live Scientific Congress and Medical Meetings
- ELearning materials which educate HCPs about your client’s data and product
Supported by an in-house team of medical writers, and design creatives you lead on the creation and delivery of these programmes. In position of Account Director you shall also prepare financial forecasts and moreover ensure the profitable running of the account.
Candidate Responsibilities & Candidate Criteria

Responsibilities :
- Client Engagement. Providing the client with scientific and commercial insights in the Oncology market
- Line managing a Senior Account Manager and x2 Account Executives. This includes conducting staff appraisals, and performance reviews. Moreover you will plan work schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Profitability of the account. You will monitor budgets to be certain that service levels stay within your client budget and moreover you will forecast future costs & profits.
- New business. As this is a newly won account you will be aiming to identify opportunities for further business growth.
Skills & Experience needed :
- Experience of working at Senior Account Manager level or above
- Experience of creating & managing the delivery of Medical Education campaigns
- Some awareness of Global Oncology Trends impacting the drugs market
- Demonstrate the ability to forecast account profitability and moreover manage day to day account budget
- Because you will lead your client services team it is important that you have some experience of line management and/or mentoring.
