Independent owner managed Medical Education Agency. Established 15+ years. The agency has grown its headcount 50% year on year since 2017. With no sign of slowing down the time is now right to hire a Business Unit Director.
Your immediate priority will be to optimise the profitability of accounts through strategic counsel and staff leadership. Your role will develop to include supporting the Managing Directors by implementing staff, business, and operational processes.

Located in Buckinghamshire surrounded by lovely Chilterns countryside the office is easily reached from all of Buckinghamshire as well as from many parts of West London, North West London, Middlesex, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Bedfordshire. The agency is a specialist in Medical Education Programmes – pure and simple. The objective to be achieved, at all times, is behaviour change and brand advocacy. The Medical Education programmes include Pharma sponsored meetings for an audience of Health Care Professionals, Digital learning channels such as webinars, Stand-alone meetings – national and international Advisory boards, Satellite meetings, and Key Opinion and Advocacy management. The agency works with other healthcare communication specialists as part of integrated campaigns; these include Market Access, Patient Advocacy, and Healthcare PR.
The agency structure :
Client Services teams are led by Account Directors. You will oversee 2-3 Account Directors. There is a separate medical writing team which is headed by an Editorial Team Leader. You will report directly to the Managing Directors.
Business Unit Director. Candidate Criteria :
- Experience at a senior level within client services in healthcare communications
- An understanding of medical education strategy
- Ability to manage profit & loss accounts
- Awareness of how to optimise profitability of client accounts
- Interest in pursuing your medical education agency career in the direction of operational and business growth strategy
