A medical communications (MedComms) agency that develops a wide range of marketing communications to inform, educate, and promote  pharmaceuticals & medical devices. With an in-house team of medical writers, editors, creatives, and marketing strategists our client delivers advertising campaigns, conference booths, apps, animations, sales material, eLearning content, and slide decks for conferences. Further our client develops meeting agendas to gather expert medical & stakeholder opinion.

The role :

This is an Associate Medical Editor and therefore ideally matched to an individual with a science based degree plus 1 to 2 years editorial experience in a role such as editorial assistant.

You will benefit from excellent mentoring within an editorial team of 20 staff and moreover you will be given opportunity to develop responsibility and progress your editing career.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Adapting scientific data according to the audience and demands of the client brief.
  • Producing accurate, concise and insightful content across projects
  • Ensure the editorial review process is conducted and feedback incorporated
  • Structural editing such as rewriting, changing order, and flow, etc
  • Research and fact-­checking, including checking work against source materials 
  • Identify authors, key opinion leaders and clinical trial information
  • Create and edit slide decks such as formatting text, figures, graphs and animations.
  • Liaise with clients, key opinion leaders and external teams regarding content production
  • Content support for events – including attending to provide on-site assistance
  • Take responsibility for defined aspects of team projects adhering to delivery timelines & budgets

1-2 years editing exp. & science degree reqd.

Skills required :

  • Excellent editing, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Proven experience in a relevant STM editorial environment, such as a medical communications agency, healthcare advertising agency, or a journal publisher.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Keen interest in the pharmaceutical industry and science communication.
